Class 7 (English Assignment)
The Lost Wallet
Rina was walking home from school when she saw a brown wallet lying near the
bus stop. She picked it up and looked inside. There was some money, an ID card,
and a bus pass. The name on the card was Mr. Hari Prasad.
Rina felt excited because she had never held so much money before. She
thought about the new storybook she wanted to buy. But then she imagined how
worried Mr. Hari Prasad must be without his wallet.
Instead of keeping it, Rina walked to the nearby police station and gave the
wallet to the officer. The officer smiled and thanked her. Later that evening,
Mr. Hari Prasad came to her house to thank her personally. He said, “Your
honesty has made my day.”
Rina felt proud — happier than she would have felt buying the book.
