Holi vacation assignment grade 7 (English/Math/Science)

– English Passage

The Importance of Trees

Trees are one of the most valuable gifts of nature. They provide us with oxygen, which is necessary for breathing, and they absorb carbon dioxide from the air. Trees also give us fruits, wood, medicine, and shade. Many animals and birds depend on trees for food and shelter.

Trees help to keep the environment clean and cool. Their roots hold the soil firmly and prevent soil erosion during heavy rain. Forests also help in maintaining the balance of nature by supporting different forms of life.

However, many trees are cut down for buildings and roads. This causes problems such as pollution and climate change. Therefore, people should plant more trees and protect forests to make the Earth a healthier place for everyone.

1.     Why are trees important for humans?

2.     Name two things trees provide us.

Electricity and Magnetism (Science)

Electricity and magnetism are closely related forms of energy that play an important role in our daily lives. Electricity is the flow of electric charges, usually through a wire. We use electricity to light our homes, run computers, charge mobile phones, and operate many machines. Electric current flows easily through materials called conductors, such as copper and aluminum, while materials like rubber and plastic are insulators because they do not allow electricity to pass through easily.

Magnetism is a force produced by magnets, which can attract objects made of iron, nickel, or cobalt. Every magnet has two poles: a north pole and a south pole. Opposite poles attract each other, while similar poles repel.

Electricity and magnetism are connected. When electric current passes through a wire, it creates a magnetic field around it. This principle is used to make electromagnets, which are temporary magnets created using electricity. Electromagnets are used in electric bells, cranes for lifting scrap metal, and electric motors.

Understanding electricity and magnetism helps us learn how many modern technologies work safely and efficiently.
