Holi vacation assignment grade 8 (English/Math/Science)
English Passage
The Role of Technology
in Education
Technology has changed the way
students learn and teachers teach. In modern classrooms, computers, projectors,
and the internet help students understand lessons more clearly. Online videos,
educational apps, and digital books make learning more interesting and
interactive.
Technology also allows students
to learn from anywhere. Online classes and virtual discussions help learners
connect with teachers and classmates even when they are far apart. Students can
easily search for information and complete research projects using digital
tools.
However, technology must be used
wisely. Too much screen time can affect health and reduce physical activity.
Therefore, students should balance the use of technology with outdoor
activities and face-to-face communication.
Questions
1.
How has technology changed education?
2.
Name two technological tools used in classrooms.
3.
How does technology help students learn from anywhere?
4.
What is one disadvantage of excessive technology use?
5.
Why is balance important when using technology?

Electricity and Magnetism (Science)
Electricity
and magnetism are two forms of energy that are strongly connected and form the
basis of many modern technologies. Electricity is produced by the
movement of tiny charged particles called electrons. When electrons move
through a closed path known as an electric circuit, an electric current
is created. A simple circuit includes a power source (such as a battery),
conducting wires, and a device like a bulb or motor. If the circuit is broken,
the electric current stops flowing.
Materials
that allow electricity to pass easily are called conductors, while those
that resist the flow of electricity are called insulators. Proper
insulation is important for safety because it prevents electric shocks.
Magnetism is the force exerted by magnets, which attract magnetic
materials such as iron and steel. Magnets have two poles—north and south—and
magnetic force is strongest at these poles. Like poles repel each other, while
unlike poles attract.
Electricity
and magnetism are closely linked through electromagnetism. When electric
current flows through a coil of wire, it produces a magnetic field. Wrapping
the wire around an iron core makes a strong electromagnet. Electromagnets are
widely used in electric motors, generators, loudspeakers, and cranes used in
recycling industries.
Learning
about electricity and magnetism helps us understand how electrical devices work
and how energy can be converted from one form to another.
Questions
- What is
