English Assignment (Class 7)

The School Garden

A school decided to create a vegetable garden. The principal gave each class a small plot of land and asked them to grow vegetables. Class 7A chose tomatoes because they are easy to grow and popular among students. Class 7B chose carrots because they can grow in different weather conditions.

After three months, Class 7A harvested 40 kilograms of tomatoes, while Class 7B harvested 25 kilograms of carrots. Many students thought that Class 7A had done a better job because they produced more vegetables. However, the science teacher pointed out that carrots require less water and fertilizer than tomatoes. She also noted that the weather during the season was unusually hot, which was better for tomatoes than for carrots.

The principal asked students to think carefully before deciding which class had performed better. He explained that success should not always be judged by the amount produced. Sometimes, the effort, resources used, and challenges faced should also be considered.
