Class 9 (English Assignment)
The Power of Asking Questions
Many people think that being
intelligent means knowing all the answers. However, true learning often begins
when we learn how to ask good questions. A curious student does not simply
accept every piece of information; instead, they think carefully, compare
ideas, and try to understand the reasons behind things.
In the past, students depended
mostly on books and teachers for information. Today, technology provides access
to millions of sources of knowledge. Although this makes learning easier, it
also creates a new challenge. Not everything found on the internet is correct.
Students need to develop the ability to check information, identify reliable
sources, and make decisions based on evidence.
Critical thinking does not mean
disagreeing with everything. It means examining ideas from different
perspectives before reaching a conclusion. For example, when students hear that
a new method of studying is the “best,” they should ask: “How do we know it is
the best?” “What evidence supports this claim?” and “Does it work for
everyone?”
A person with strong critical
thinking skills can solve problems creatively. They can identify mistakes,
learn from failures, and find better solutions. These skills are useful not
only in school but also in daily life, where people often need to make
important choices.
Therefore, education should not
only focus on memorizing facts. It should encourage students to become
thoughtful individuals who can analyze information, ask meaningful questions,
and use knowledge wisely.
