Class 9 (English Assignment)

The Empty Classroom

Every morning, Maya noticed that one classroom in her school was almost always empty during the first period. The room had good sunlight, enough desks, and a small library. However, very few students used it. Maya thought the school should find out why.

Instead of simply assuming that students were lazy, she decided to investigate. She asked twenty students from different grades about the classroom. Some said they did not know they were allowed to use it. Others said there were not enough interesting books. A few students said they preferred using their phones during free time.

Maya shared the information with her teacher. Together, they suggested three changes: putting a notice on the door, adding books chosen by students, and creating a quiet reading period once a week. After one month, more students began using the room.

Maya realized that a problem cannot always be solved by guessing its cause. Sometimes, we need to collect information, listen to different opinions, test possible solutions, and observe the results before making a decision.
